WestIslandKev: June 14, 2013 - Battambang, Cambodia.
Typical breakfast in Cambodia #4 - Battambang Town Restaurant Homemade Dumpling Noodle Soup. I am in Battambang City, the capital city of Battambang province in northwestern Cambodia. Founded in the 11th century by the Khmer Empire, Battambang is considered to be the leading rice-producing province in Cambodia. This restaurant, Battambang Town Restaurant, is excelent and I ate here several times for breakfast and supper. Food was delicious, service was friendly and professional, quality was high, prices very reasonable.
Typical breakfast in Cambodia, this time consisting of wide white rice noodle soup in a delicious broth with house dumplings, pork meatballs, seafood (shrimp and squid) in a delicious broth. It also included lettuce, bean sprouts, green onion, roasted garlic, hot chili sauce, fresh lime juice and fresh ground peppercorns. It is freshly prepared for the price of 10000 Cambodian Riel (about CAD$2.65 or USD$2.50). I also had a wonderful strong ice-coffee with sweetened condensed milk at a cost of $1.50.
