Zombie Mouth Sculpt

02:53
This is another video in the latex series - showing a sped up sculpt for the zombie mouth. I was originally going to use this to create a tutorial, but since I ended up changing the design twice, it seemed inappropriate to give detailed instructions, to then turn around and be like "now remove that half of the face that you've spent two hours sculpting, we're replacing it with a life cast pull!" So here it is as a 3 minute sped up video to give an idea of the process of sculpting something like this. There was three and a half hours of sculpting recorded, over a three day period. Originally I wasn't going to have lips, then I added in lips but was unhappy with the shape, then my friend Marc (Powdah) suggested pouring melted chavant into my silicone life cast, and pull out the exact shape of my actual lips in clay. I then had to thin down the clay at the back, separate the lips (they were closed and I wanted it to be open) and slightly reshape everything to fit with the rest of the design. I then smoothed out and re-textured the skin. This sculpt was then cast in Ultra Cal 30, and then that mould was used to create my very first slush latex piece. Those videos will be uploaded within the next week. Flat-Moulding and Casting the Infected Knee Tutorial | Freakmo and Powdah Collab

07:57
My wonderful friend Powdah (https://www.youtube.com/user/powdahoz) came to visit me in Perth and we decided to create this gruesome infected knee. This is the second of four in depth videos covering this makeup, going over how to create a flat mould and run an encapsulated silicone prosthetic. Subscribe to get updates when new videos are released: http://bit.ly/1QHJigm We found the image on the app Figure 1. It was a total knee replacement which got infected (MRSA) and the skin started to die. Our idea was to sculpt, cast, pre paint and apply together but we unfortunately ran out of time. So we sculpted and cast the piece together, then Powdah took one appliance home and will pre paint and apply his in Melbourne, and I have pre painted and applied mine here. Keep a look out on his channel for when he uploads his pre paint and application. Zombie Mouth Prosthetic Tutorial

I've made this video for those wanting a tutorial on the latex jaw prosthetic that I've made in the past. Be warned: it is very hard to eat or talk while wearing this, and you will have to drink through a straw. To make it a little easier, you can cut the jaw into two pieces: an upper and a lower jaw (pictured here: http://i.imgur.com/nIOIE.jpg) Stuart Bray's tutorial gave me a lot of the ideas in this video, so you should definitely check out this video for tips and ideas on how to make your own latex prosthetic, and his painting skills are magical: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtSwTu535TQ* _______________________ S O C I A L M E D I A Support the channel on Patreon | http://patreon.com/freakmo Instagram | http://instagram.com/freakmofx Facebook | http://facebook.com/FreakmoFX New Google + page | https://plus.google.com/+Freakmo Twitter | http://twitter.com/FreakmoFX Snapchat | Freakmo Periscope | FreakmoMy favourite FX Brushes: http://goo.gl/DTX2X0 (affiliate link)

I know some people love it, and some hate it. __________________________________________ MAKEUP FX.COM INFO GELATINE RECIPE: "450 gram Glycerine, liquid 450 gram Sorbitol, liquido 150-200 gram Gelatine powder (A high quality gelatine is the best. Quality is measured in a "bloom" scale and 300 is great for this!) Mix the liquids and one tablespoon of water in a plastic or glass bowl. Put it into the microwave on full effect (800 W) for 4 minutes All times stated here might need to be changed to suit your microwave. It is warm enough when you can't put your finger in it without burning it. Gelatine melts in a temperature around 70°C. Remember that you should never let the gelatine boil but just melt it. The fibres in the gelatine are destroyed if it boils. Add the powder slowly while stirring fast. Let the gelatine powder absorb the liquid and swell for five minutes. Put it back in the microwave for two minutes. Open and stir a few times during. Remember that gelatine is not allowed to boil! Take it out and let it cool for two minutes and stir it often during that time. Repeat the four minute procedure (heat+cool) somewhere between seven or eight times. This is needed to thoroughly melt the gelatine powder. You can put a little drop on a cool surface and feel how it feels when it's cooled down. If it is all done it is a very soft but still firm (sounds weird but that is how gelatine feels when it's good). Let the mix cool for a while before pouring it into ice cube trays. Put it flat on the table to cool. The gelatine can now be re-melted whenever you need to use it. Tip! As you need to let the gelatine cool between the runs in the microwave, do two batches at the same time. This saves you a lot of time. Health and safety! Gelatine is HOT! If you get it on your skin it will burn you until your skin comes off! I always wear protective gloves, covered shoes, long trousers and protective glasses. You can't play it too safe when working with dangerous materials." There are several other gelatine recipes online, and this is the only one I have used so far. __________________________________________ _______________________ S O C I A L M E D I A Support the channel on Patreon | http://patreon.com/freakmo Instagram | http://instagram.com/freakmofx Facebook | http://facebook.com/FreakmoFX New Google + page | https://plus.google.com/+Freakmo Twitter | http://twitter.com/FreakmoFX Snapchat | Freakmo Periscope | FreakmoMy favourite FX Brushes: http://goo.gl/DTX2X0 (affiliate link)

How to Apply and Paint a Plastic Bald Cap

The cycle of the globes with the frame rate of the camera weren't in sync and so it showed up on the screen. I swear I wasn't having a rave party while filming. I will endeavour to do another bald cap video using balloon latex, and showing how I paint that, and I will ensure the image quality is clear and non-strobey. Struggles with bald caps - having used gafquat before, it made the hair clump together and it was too thick to properly comb out or flatten, so it left it quite textured (like the streaks) which showed through the bald cap. Gafquat might be my best bet, still, but I need to figure out how to apply it better - whether to dilute it with alcohol, water, or just leave it undiluted, which brush to use, whether to blow dry it after, and how much to apply. _______________________ S O C I A L M E D I A Support the channel on Patreon | http://patreon.com/freakmo Instagram | http://instagram.com/freakmofx Facebook | http://facebook.com/FreakmoFX New Google + page | https://plus.google.com/+Freakmo Twitter | http://twitter.com/FreakmoFX Snapchat | Freakmo Periscope | FreakmoMy favourite FX Brushes: http://goo.gl/DTX2X0 (affiliate link)

Halloween: Post-apocalyptic Badass Heroine

10:29
Read for more info: I wanted to do a badass Heroine character, so I thought maybe something post-apocalyptic or resident evil-ish. The scarred blind eye thing has been done a few times, I first saw a version by Placebo FX that stuck with me. I thought it'd be a cool feature for the character, I changed up the scar pattern/placement and colouration, and combined it with dirt, bruises, scratches, a soft smoky eye, and some weaponry for a full character look. Materials: -Dermaguard -Kryolan Rigid Collodion http://shrsl.com/12nq2 * -Concealer (I used L'Oreal Perfect Match, and Art Deco Camoflage concealer) -Under eye concealer -Tarte Maracuja Creaseless concealer -Skin 79 BB Cream (Gold) -Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit -Benefit Dandelion Blush -Benefit High Beam -Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz (Ash Blonde) -Elf Brow Kit (Ash) -Naked 1 + 2 (using Naked, Buck, and Blackout) -Benefit Badgal liner -Maybelline Falsies Mascara -Skin Illustrator Necromania palette http://shrsl.com/12nmr * Skin Illustrator Fleshtones palette http://shrsl.com/12nmf * Bdellium Tools SFX Brushes http://shrsl.com/12nn8 * Filming equipment: Canon 7D Canon 24-70 Lens https://amzn.to/2LLEBrc * * = affiliate link Safety/Warning: -Rigid Collodion can be quite harsh on your skin and hard to remove. It's much easier to remove if you apply moisturiser and a barrier creme before you apply it. It's also easier to use after wearing it for a few hours, as the natural face oils and movement will break it down. To remove, gently peel it away. If you have any difficulties, try a makeup remover. Remember to be slow and gentle, this can remove your outer layer of your skin. I do not recommend applying this on your eyelids or around your eyes, or on your lips, which is why I opted for only skin illustrator on those areas. This is the third of four in depth videos covering this makeup, going into depth about how I paint with silicone. Subscribe to get updates when new videos are released: http://bit.ly/1QHJigm We found the image on the app Figure 1. Halloween Prosthetics from MOULDS & Silicone VS Prosaide transfers | Freakmo

Infected Knee Makeup | Powdah & Freakmo Collab!

05:41
My wonderful friend Powdah (https://www.youtube.com/user/powdahoz) came to visit me in Perth and we decided to create this gruesome infected knee. There will be four in depth videos covering this makeup, dubscribe to get updates when new videos are released: http://bit.ly/1QHJigm We found the image on the app Figure 1. This is an overview video of how I created my Clicker cosplay from the video game The Last of Us. Subscribe to get updates when new videos are released: http://bit.ly/1QHJigm I won't put up material lists or warnings in this video, I will include them in the broken down videos for each section so it's not too cray cray. I used a photo of a Clicker bust by Fabricio Works as my main reference image. They have an awesome video of them sculpting it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5oyYuTi-ec Francesco Sanseverino also has an amazing clicker full silicone mask that he made, and I got the idea to use cotton fibres from him, except that he uses silicone to adhere them on to the body. Infected Knee Makeup Application | Powdah and Freakmo Collab!

09:26
My wonderful friend Powdah (https://www.youtube.com/user/powdahoz) came to visit me in Perth and we decided to create this gruesome infected knee. This is the fourth and last of the in depth videos covering this makeup, showing how I applied the prosthetic. Freakmo's First Filmed Zombie Makeup

09:29
This is the first makeup video I put on Youtube! About a year ago I was getting into super beginner SFX makeup, and this is what I started with. This makeup took around an hour to complete. It's a cheap, easy, fast way to make a zombie makeup, but the downfall is that: 1. You will not be able to speak or eat while wearing this, and you can drink through a straw, and 2. it doesn't look as realistic. The materials I used are: - Liquid Latex http://shrsl.com/12np9 * - One ply tissues (separate them yourself) - Kryolan Fresh Scratch Blood (dark) http://shrsl.com/12nq8 * - red face paint Filming equipment: Canon 70D Canon 24-70 Lens https://amzn.to/2LLEBrc * * = affiliate link I layered up the tissues on my face with latex - tissue - latex, blow dried between each layer. The latex goes clear as it dries, but the tissues will remain white. You can match this to your skin colour with grease paints, but I didn't have any so I just smothered the thick Kryolan blood over it all. After the skin is your desired thickness (I usually go until I'm bored) peel and rip it from the mouth outwards. You can use more latex to stick the skin back onto itself (it's quite rigid so it will just stick right out, or try to cover the mouth again). Then I made the teeth with more rolled up toilet paper, covered in latex), and stuck it down with latex. Then some red face paint, then the blood. It does hurt to take this off, as the latex will grip onto your peach fuzz hairs around your mouth. I've started using silicone instead now, as it's a lot more flexible and comfortable, you can usually talk, eat, and drink with it on, and it doesn't stink like latex does :P nor does it rip out your hair. If you're in a colder climate and want something cheap to use that's not as uncomfortable as latex, you could get some gelatine. It's really soft and flexible, easy to move in, it's downfall is that it melts in heat. _______________________ S O C I A L M E D I A Support the channel on Patreon | http://patreon.com/freakmo Instagram | http://instagram.com/freakmofx Facebook | http://facebook.com/FreakmoFX New Google + page | https://plus.google.com/+Freakmo Twitter | http://twitter.com/FreakmoFX Snapchat | Freakmo Periscope | FreakmoMy favourite FX Brushes: http://goo.gl/DTX2X0 (affiliate link)
